POLICY UPDATES: As a result of successful Union Negotiations by the Alberta of Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE), the Town’s Employment Policy, Health and Wellness Benefit Policy, Non-Union Staff Remuneration and Council Remuneration Policy were updated to ensure all are consistent with the AUPE agreement.

The Public Participation and Engagement Policy was reviewed and approved by Council. This policy is reviewed every four years and was last looked at by Council in 2021. Administration updated the policy to include the Town app, a section has been amended to update the name of the Local and Composite Assessment Review Boards and the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board to the Joint Assessment Review Board and the Intermunicipal Subdivision and Development Appeal Board. The policy is due for review again in 2029.

BRIEFLY: The Municipal Planning Commission approved Development Permit 25-D0041 for a new major home business, with conditions.

The Bonnyville Swimming Pool won the Anne Resek Swim for Life Award, which recognizes the affiliate who accumulated the highest point total for the Swim for Life Program.

Council denied the request from the Bonnyville and District FCSS Board to pay the fees for board members appointed by the Town to attend the Family and Community Support Services Association of Alberta (FCSSAA) conference.
