BONNYVILLE, AB – The Town of Bonnyville is rolling out a fun new way to connect with the community—by giving two hard-working vehicles names that reflect the spirit of Bonnyville.
Local youth aged 17 and under are invited to take part in the Town’s Vehicle Naming Contest for our new Street Sweeper and Hydro Vac Truck. Whether it’s clever, creative, or just plain fun, we want to hear your best name ideas!
“This is a great way to engage with our younger residents and build community pride,” said Mayor Elisa Brosseau. “We know how imaginative our youth are, and we can’t wait to see what names they come up with!”
Both of these machines help our Public Works Department keep Bonnyville North of Expected. The Street Sweeper removes debris, trash, and pollutants from road surfaces, which prevents them from entering storm drains and polluting waterways. The Hydro Vac exposes underground utilities before doing dig repairs, along with cleaning sewer mains and blocked sewer lines.
Submissions will be reviewed by Town Council and staff, who will shortlist the top five names for each vehicle. From there, Bonnyville residents will vote on their favourites to help crown the official winners during National Public Works Week.
Entries can include names for one or both vehicles and must be submitted by 12 p.m. on Friday, May 16.
This contest is all about creativity, community, and a little bit of fun—so let’s get naming, Bonnyville!
