Town of Bonnyville Grants and Funding supports a variety of initiatives, including recreations and culture, social services, and economic and tourism drivers.

Below are the community grants the Town of Bonnyville offers to those who want to contribute to the vitality and resilience of our community. These are meant to promote, foster growth and connections within Bonnyville.

Capital Project Assistance Grant

The Capital Projects Assistant Grant provides eligible Cultural and Recreational Organizations with project-based funding. The funding is intended to help restore, enhance or build facilities and improvements, or to enable organizations to purchase equipment and goods that will improve or maintain delivery of services.

Sporting Event Grant Program

The Town of Bonnyville may provide funding support to local sports organizations, as well as Town of Bonnyville residents to assist with attending provincial, national, or international sporting competitions outside of the Town of Bonnyville.

Events Sponsorships and Donations

The Town of Bonnyville often receives requests for financial support from organizations for events, fundraisers, or other initiatives. These requests may include donations, sponsorships, or funding to purchase tickets or pay for participation in events. Such requests are typically made when:

  1. Submitting a formal grant application is not practical or necessary.
  2. The requested amount is lower than what the Town’s event grant programs typically cover.
  3. The event doesn’t qualify under the criteria of the Town’s event grant programs.

Event Grant Program

The Event Grant program is available to eligible organizations to assist with event hosting costs for events within the Town of Bonnyville. The objective of the program is to sustain existing high-profile events and encourage high-profile events. For more information, please read the Event Grant Program Guidelines.

Community Development Grant Program

The Community Development Grant Program provides funding for eligible Social Service Organizations for activities which help them achieve their core mandate. The funding is intended for requests which are not a good fit under the Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) program.

Recreational/Cultural Operating Program

The Recreational/Cultural Operating Program is available to eligible organizations for operational expenses. These operational expenses must be those that generally reoccur from year to year and are those which exist presently. These operational expenses must be connected to the organization’s facilities, and the programs and services delivered from those facilities.

Ad Hoc Requests

On an occasional basis, the Town of Bonnyville receives requests for funding that do not fit under any Town Grant Program. In other instances, the Town receives requests that should be submitted under a Town Grant Program but are not. To this end, the Town will establish a policy in order to efficiently and consistently address these requests. Administration shall establish a procedure for this policy and shall be responsible to ensure the spirit and intent of the policy is being adhered to.
