Town of Bonnyville Launches App

Dec 9, 2022 | News

BONNYVILLE – A new app will be a one stop shop for Town of Bonnyville residents.

When Town Council expressed interest in launching a Town app, administration did extensive research on what residents wanted included and then looked for a company offering a product that would give Bonnyville residents what they wanted. That was found through B-CITI Solutions.

“We conducted an extensive survey among our citizens to gain better knowledge of their needs in terms of communication and interaction with us, as well as access all Bonnyville services”, explained Town of Bonnyville Mayor Elisa Brosseau. “The survey’s results convinced us that it had become necessary to adopt new tools to centralize diverse information and services. bciti+ was our choice as the best application that checks all the boxes on our list, as well as the only platform to provide access to an infinite number of municipal and urban services all in one place.”

B-CITI Solutions is a fast-growing Canadian technology company specializing in Smart Citizen Services and aims to improve the daily lives of all citizens and shaping the cities of tomorrow. Bciti+ is an innovative mobile and web platform, which leverages metadata, automation, and artificial intelligence. The platform is used by over 70 cities and municipalities across Canada.

“Counting Bonnyville among our valued customers is both proof of the confidence that we continue to inspire in Quebec and in Canada, and of the manifestation of a growing need, here and elsewhere, to exploit digital technology as a catalyst for improved dialogue between cities and their residents”, highlighted Vivianne Gravel, President of B-CITI Solutions.

Features included in the app aim to make it a user-friendly access point for residents. In this regard, B-CITI Solutions recently added an automated voice module to its platform, which allows for the reception of notifications and alerts on a landline phone. Even today, the Government of Canada estimates that 6.5% of Canadian citizens do not have access to high-speed Internet.

This new feature is in addition to already existing functions that have made the bciti+ application a success, such as:

  • The delivery and management of a digital citizen’s card allow the user to register for a multitude of services, activities, and events, while also ensuring the security and confidentiality of personal data.
  • A real-time notification system that centralizes communications and rapidly informs the population on matters pertaining to snow removal services, emergencies, garbage collection, boil-water advisories, etc.
  • A digital citizen consultation module providing easy access to residents, so that they may share feedback on services and answer surveys and questionnaires.
  • A smart dashboard solution that integrates statistical computing and business intelligence algorithms. This improves the decision-making of municipal leaders, by anticipating citizen needs according to their profile, preferences, and usage of services.

The app was officially launched in Bonnyville on Monday, Dec. 9. It is available on all smartphones. Residents can also access the information at https://bonnyville.bciti.com/login.
