Council approved the Town’s 2025–2029 Strategic Plan, outlining Council’s priorities and proposed capital projects for the next four years. The Plan builds on the Town’s 20-Year Strategic Framework and identifies initiatives to support Bonnyville’s growth and development. Individual projects will remain subject to available funding, partnerships and future Council approvals.

Council approved a letter of support for Go East Regional Tourism Organization’s application to the Northern and Regional Economic Development (NRED) Grant Program. The proposed initiative would support tourism development, industry training and regional promotion across northeastern and east-central Alberta. No financial contribution from the Town is associated with the letter.

Council considered the proposed dissolution of the Regional Sports Tourism Committee, following a request from the M.D. of Bonnyville. Council directed Administration to advise the M.D. of Bonnyville and other municipalities associated with the Committee of its preference to hold a Regional Sports Tourism Committee meeting before considering the committee’s proposed dissolution. Council would like the committee to review the proposal and provide a recommendation before a decision is made.

Council authorized Administration to apply for funding through the Alberta Municipal Water/Wastewater Partnership Program for a proposed new water reservoir and pump house. The estimated $12.7-million project would improve water storage capacity, system reliability and support future community growth.

Council approved Corporate Communications Policy No. 26-AD-119, establishing guidelines for internal communications and the use of Town-approved digital communication tools. The policy aims to improve communication, information security and accessibility for Town employees.
