Dec 8, 2023 | News

The Bonnyville RCMP were involved in 173 investigations from December 1-8.

On December 1st at 6pm RCMP were called to a trailer park North of town to deal with an intoxicated male who was refusing to leave a residence.  While RCMP were en route to the scene, a second call came in that the male had now thrown an axe through the window.  Members arrived on scene and located the male walking outside in the trailer park.  He was told he was under arrest but did not comply at first.  He was eventually arrested without further incident.  45 year old Ivan Cardinal of Bonnyville is charged with 2 counts of Mischief Under $5000, Resisting Arrest and 2 counts of Failing to Comply with a Release Order Condition (for previous unrelated charges he’d been released on).  A hearing was held and bail was set at $100 with conditions.  Cardinal’s next court appearance is December 19th.

On December 7th at 8pm the Bonnyville RCMP were called to a residence in Kehewin to deal with an intoxicated male knocking on the door who then proceeded to smash a window of the house.  Members attended, located and arrested the suspect.  Charges are now pending against the 18 year old male from Kehewin.  If charged, the male’s fist court appearance is set for February 20th.
