Bonnyville, AB – The Town of Bonnyville has been designated as a host community under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program’s Rural Renewal Stream (RRS).
The RRS supports the attraction and retention of newcomers to rural Alberta through a community-driven approach that assists local economic development needs and contributes to the growth of the community. This program empowers rural communities to recruit and retain foreign nationals to live, work, and settle in their communities.
“We heard a major issue facing our local businesses was finding and retaining workers,” noted Town of Bonnyville Mayor Elisa Brosseau. “They approached myself and Council about submitting an application for the RSS program and we are very happy that the Town has received a designation from the provincial government. We hope this will help addressing those hurdles for our local business owners and we’re looking forward to working alongside them to make this program a success.”
To be eligible for the program, businesses must be located within the Town of Bonnyville with a valid business license and have permanent, full-time positions available that they haven’t been able to fill.
