Mission Statement

The Bonnyville Municipal Library provides access to a broad range of resources, services, and programs that meet the reading, viewing, listening, lifelong learning, and information needs of the communities we serve.

Guiding Principles

  1. To support the Canadian Library Association's statements on intellectual freedom.
  2. To provide quality public service for all library users.
  3. To provide a welcoming community gathering space and inviting atmosphere.
  4. To provide a balanced and diverse collection in a variety of formats.
  5. To provide accurate and timely information services.
  6. To support lifelong learning, including print and electronic literacy.
  7. To identify and respond to community needs on a continuing basis.
  8. To cooperate and/or partner with other community organizations, agencies, and institutions.

Library Mandate

The Bonnyville Municipal Library provides the residents of Bonnyville, the Municipal District (MD) of Bonnyville, and the Summer Village of Pelican Narrows with:

  • Access to an organized collection of educational, cultural, and recreational materials in a variety of formats.
  • Access to the TRACpac online catalogue, which is available online for 24/7 access.
  • Interlibrary loan service.
  • Reference materials and service.
  • Access to high-speed internet.
  • Wireless access point.
  • Two children's literacy workstations.
  • Free programs for all ages, outreach services, and a summer reading program.
