PHOTO GALLERY: Canada Day 2023

The Town of Bonnyville was decked out in red and white to celebrate Canada on Saturday, July 1.

Residents enjoyed the pancake breakfast, opening ceremonies, parade, and Party in the Park (before the rain came in.) Although some of our events were cancelled due to the weather, fun was had by all before that happened.

COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS

REGULAR MEETING

JUNE 27

RURAL RENEWAL STREAM PROGRAM APPLICATION: Council approved the submission of an application to the Government of Alberta’s Rural Renewal Immigration Stream (RRS). This program supports the attraction and retention of newcomers to rural Alberta through a community driven approach that supports local economic development needs and contributes to the growth of the community. The RRS addresses current labour needs and skills shortages in rural Alberta communities and helps newcomers settle into the community. This stream requires a community to apply to the provincial government for a community designation. Once designated, the community then works with employers to attract, recruit, and retain newcomers by sharing information on settlement supports.
