DELEGATION: Jackie Seely presented an update on behalf of STARS, regarding the organization’s critical care operations and service in the Bonnyville region. STARS reported an average of 41 missions per year throughout the Bonnyville area over the past five years, including 109 critical inter-facility transfers from the Bonnyville Health Centre between 2021 and 2025.
STARS requested $10,000 from the Town for its 2027 fiscal year to support critical mission operations, noting that the contribution represents approximately $1.50 per capita and would help support its 24/7 emergency response and critical care services. PROCLAMATION: Mayor Elisa Brosseau proclaimed September 22 to 25, 2026, as Alberta Development Officers Week in the Town of Bonnyville. The week recognizes Development Officers and their role in sound planning and development practices, as well as their commitment to public service and the quality of development within Alberta communities.
BUSINESS: Council agreed to maintain the Town’s APEX Utilities franchise fee at 21 per cent for 2027, with revenues forecast to increase by approximately $35,932 over the 2026 budget.
Council approved the remaining $13,500 in previously budgeted funding for the Bonnyville and District Chamber of Commerce to support several business and economic development initiatives.
Council also agreed to provide a letter of support for Go East of Edmonton Regional Tourism’s application to become a provincially designated Regional Destination Marketing Organization. Mayor Brosseau thanked the organization for its work promoting Bonnyville and the region, highlighting its strong presence and visibility.
