BONNYVILLE – The Town of Bonnyville is thrilled to announce that Quinton Wintfley will be stepping into the role of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), bringing fresh leadership and energy to our community.
Born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, Wintfley moved to Canada as a child and called a few provinces home before landing in Alberta. Wintfley’s passion for making a difference and creating opportunities in communities brought him to municipal government. He received a degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Lethbridge and joined the Alberta Municipal Internship Program, where he served as Assistant CAO for the Village of Consort. For the past 10 years, Wintfley has held positions in municipal government, across both the private and public sector. His most recent role was as CAO for the Town of Coronation, a position he began in 2019.
“This position has taught me a great deal about small-town politics and the intricacies of polarization and internal political dynamics,” Wintfley explained. “The challenges faced within the complex environment of a small town have provided lasting lessons that I will carry with me into the future.”
As CAO for the Town of Bonnyville, Wintfley will lead the municipality collaboratively with a community-first mindset to ensure projects are supported by the people they’re meant to serve.
“Bonnyville offers an exciting opportunity, not only to grow professionally but to contribute to a forward thinking and evolving community. As a younger CAO, this is a chance to make a meaningful impact and to be part of something with enormous potential. The possibilities for growth, innovation and collaboration are incredibly exciting.”
Town of Bonnyville Mayor Elisa Brosseau was thrilled to welcome Wintfley to Bonnyville as the new CAO.
“Quinton’s energy and experience aligns well with Council’s vision. We’re confident he will hit the ground running and become an integral part of both our organization and the community we serve. We are excited for what lies ahead and look forward to the great work we’ll accomplish together.”
Wintfley will begin at the Town June 16, 2025.
